About him
For many years I had caring responsibilities to elderly relatives. They were my priority but now that has ended. Now, after many years, I have my own life to lead and hope to find someone who I can share the future with.
I have been described as having a personality that can be misunderstood by some, mainly due to the fact that I am by nature quiet but those same people, who know me well, describe me as having a kind, decent and funny nature. I don’t make friends easily but those who have become close to me have known me for many years. This may not make me sound like a good prospect but I believe that honesty is very important.
I love the theatre. I can watch almost anything but prefer plays which are comedies or light hearted. I do like films but find the theatre more relaxing and enjoyable.
I’m not desperate to find someone and so certainly would not rush into a relationship. Nor am I after a few flings. I am hoping, as I said above, to find someone who I can share my life with and will regard the coming years as something to be looked forward to, not just winding down to retirement and old age.

I was tempted to joke here that I’m not picky but I’m not sure many would see the joke. So let’s start with the obvious, appearance is not very important. Character is more important to me in any relationship and I prize honesty above everything else. A sense of humour is important though that doesn’t mean I’m looking for a comic, just someone who can see the lighter side of life.
I like walking when I have weekends away. I am not someone who could sit on a beach all day and would prefer to walk with a partner than just recline in the sun. Not to be expected during the week though as my job in a hospital means that I’m on my feet all day.
If you are an honest and caring person then you will already have put a tick on the most important box.
