About him
I'm intelligent, honest, friendly (I've been told I'm very easy to converse with, one-to-one), interesting, tolerant, extremely easy going (unless I really feel that I'm being put into a situation which will make me feel too uncomfortable), loyal, committed, reliable, trustworthy, with GSH, who can also be quite shy at times. In a group, I tend to be quiet. I like listening to music, reading, nice food & drink, eating out, visiting places, cinema, DVDs & watching some sport - snooker, tennis, golf, test cricket etc. I live alone in a house which I own & am early-retired. I'm a non-driver & not very practical.
I'm a man who'd never deliberately hurt somebody. I try to empathise with other people's feelings & treat them as I'd wish to be treated. I can suffer from social anxiety (which shouldn't be an obstacle for the right woman to form a successful relationship with me, but I'm just putting it on the record as it'll always be there, up to a point). I'm now in a situation where I'm able to manage it. I'm also phobic about cats & dogs. But otherwise, I'm a fairly well-balanced & rational person. Although I'll listen to my heart, I'm more naturally ruled by my head. I'm very reserved emotionally, introverted & a deep thinker. I'm not one for 'getting emotional' about everything, & dislike when it's used manipulatively, or falsely. I don't have any emotional baggage from previous relationships. I'll do my best & put as much commitment into a relationship as her. I need someone who'll accept me for how I am & not try to change me, nor mind if I'm not quite as strong as her in personality.
My general outlook on life leans towards moderate pragmatism & compromise. Politically, I'm a progressive, liberal, one nation conservative, but I don't think that's on offer these days, therefore currently identify as a liberal democrat. If you're strongly right wing, a socialist, a radical feminist, or a therapy preacher (I'm not saying the latter can't help, up to a point), then we won't agree. I'm not spiritual or religious.

A preferably quite socially liberal woman, but perhaps culturally more old-fashioned. Committed & with enough time & ability to devote towards meeting. Sharing some of my interests (especially music) & might want to introduce me to some of hers. Physically, perhaps a tall woman. Sorry, but someone owning a cat or dog won't be suitable.
In terms of the dynamics of a relationship, a shared partnership, both of us working together, but IMPORTANTLY with the woman taking the lead, to the benefit of us both. I'm a naturally deferential man & best suited to a capable woman, who likes an ordered & organised lifestyle, where she's in control & can make plans. I’m not saying she’ll order me about all the time, or take advantage of me. But she'll broadly know what's what about most things. If there's a decision to make, then she'll tell me what she thinks we should do & generally take charge of getting things done. I'll follow her lead. Qualities I find most attractive in a woman are assertiveness, decisiveness, confidence & intelligence, as well as being feminine, caring, warm & affectionate. If she can give good hugs, then that'll be a bonus! Maybe she'll be more of a realist than an idealist.
Being rather shy & suffering from social anxiety, I need a strong, assured & understanding woman in this respect, who'll make me feel at ease & take more responsibility in matters such as communication. Someone who won't make me do things which are obviously going to make me feel too uncomfortable, or I'm incapable of.
There's a lot of interesting depth within me for a suitable woman to explore, & I'm sure she'd find that in my own quiet & very loyal way, there's much that could make her happy. That's what I'd give to her from me.
