About him
I am a retired, university educated professional and I like to think of myself as compassionate, warm, sensitive, romantic, open and honest. Fun and laughter are important to me.
While I was born in London, I spent ten years as a child in Africa before returning to the UK for university.
My interests are many and varied allowing me to be a good conversationalist across many topics and I try to keep up to date with the world, dispiriting though that has become. I enjoy ballroom and Latin dancing and have started lessons again after too long a gap and I am really enjoying them. I was a keen dinghy sailor and windsurfer in earlier days and I took up running about ten years ago, running over a dozen half Marathons in the UK, France and the USA. I still try to run three times a week.
My living abroad gave me a life long desire to visit new places and I love travelling, both holidays and short breaks. It is the inevitable unforeseen when travelling which always lingers in my memory - like teaching the cha cha cha to an American lady on the steps of Bordeaux Cathedral!
I am happy to get to know someone by voice or video calls as I find it better than interminable messaging. I also think meeting for a coffee and chat is a great way to start out.
