About him
My life story shows no signs of becoming simpler, so if anyone fancies adding to the complexity, I'm open to offers.
Originally from Durham (the county), I've lived in and around Edinburgh for nearly 40 years, and currently split my time between the two locations. Having done things like architecture and restaurant running (that obvious combination), I now lead an officially retired existence in an apparently idyllic, rustic, rural retreat up in the hills at one extreme, and a neat little suburban semi at the other, but both close enough to essential city culture. I share them more often than not with my seventeen year old daughter (told you it was complicated) as well as a thankfully less complicated cat. I was going to add ramshackle to the rural r's above, but then remembered the neatly organised tools, cd's and home made preserves in the pantry. An extended r is renovation in progress, so those allergic to diy or extreme gardening have been warned.
Personality wise, at the risk of sounding like the shipping forecast, I'm reserved to start, becoming tactile and passionate later.
Facial hair is optional, by the way; on me, that is. Just to make sure, I would like, nay, need, to see a photo (so if you have them hidden, remember to send me an invitation.) As for the photos of me, they are all from the last year or two apart from the one in a black shirt, added in purely to show my embraceable side.
